Wellspoken is an AI-powered communication training app that helps you articulate your thoughts clearly, expand your vocabulary, and speak confidently in any situation. Think of it as a gym for your speaking skills: short, structured daily drills that build real ability over time.
The app scores your speech using the Wellspoken Index, a 1000-point score across Structure, Conciseness, Confidence, Pronunciation, Filler Rate, and Pace. You practice with guided drills like Speed Breakdown, Q&A, Bridge Builder, and Daily 60, each targeting a different facet of communication.

The team behind Wellspoken
Wellspoken is built by a team that combines professional speech coaching with behavioral science and product design. The coaching frameworks and exercise curriculum come from a practicing communication coach with a 300,000-person following. The scoring model and the daily practice design come from two founders who have each spent years on the problem of speaking clearly under pressure — one through the study of human development, the other through competitive debate as a non-native English speaker.

Reece is a London-based speech and communication coach with a background in drama, performance, and production. He runs Progress Playground, where over 300,000 people follow his work on elocution, impromptu speaking, storytelling, listening, persuasion, and improvisation. At Wellspoken he contributes the coaching frameworks and exercises that turn expert instruction into structured, repeatable practice.
Liam Du

Liam studied Human Development and Computer Science at Cornell University — the science of how people learn, think, and communicate, alongside the craft of building the systems that teach it. He designs Wellspoken’s curriculum and scoring model around a single question: what actually makes someone easier to understand, and how do you train it deliberately? That means translating decades of communication research into drills people will genuinely do every day. He previously worked on AIP Logic at Palantir Technologies and co-founded Lawnstack through the Alchemist Accelerator.
Felix Yu

Felix competed as a varsity debater through high school while still learning English — building arguments, rebutting on the clock, and speaking under pressure in a language he was actively acquiring. Knowing exactly what you want to say and not being able to get it out is the problem Wellspoken is built to solve, and he has lived it. He leads product and design, shaping how feedback is delivered so it changes behavior rather than just reporting on it. A UC Berkeley computer science graduate, he works in big tech and has shipped a consumer mobile application to 25,000 users with 95% organic acquisition.

Wellspoken is built by Wellspoken Labs Inc., based in Richmond, Virginia. The team has been building since 2024, originally as Carbon Studio, and launched Wellspoken in October 2025. The company is profitable.
